The history of modern Atlant refrigerators began with the famous Soviet brand "Minsk". The Belarusian holding company ATLANT Inc. was formed in 1993 on the basis of the Minsk Refrigerator Plant, founded in 1959, and other production associations. The first HKS-125 Minsk-1 was produced in 1962 and quickly gained a reputation as a reliable manufacturer. How to choose a good refrigerator
When choosing a refrigerator model, it is worth examining the key characteristics. These are dimensions, capacity, compressor and energy consumption. Additional options are selected according to personal needs so as not to overpay for unnecessary functions.
Dimensions. It is worth choosing universal doors, the hinges of which can be outweighed to either side. The dimensions of a standard refrigerator are 60x60 cm, height 1.76-2.50 m. The useful volume depends on them. The average family needs are as follows:
- for 1-2 people 250 l;
- for 3 people up to 300 liters;
- for 4-5 people 300-350 liters;
- 6 and more - 500 liters.
For built-in models, the depth can be reduced to 55 cm. Non-standard dimensions should be correlated with the area of the kitchen, the height and depth of the headset. For a small area, narrow models with a width of 45 cm have been developed without a freezer.
Number of cameras. The freezer volume in Atlant refrigerators usually takes 1/3 of the total capacity. Most models are 2-chamber. Refrigerating (+ 3 / + 5) ° С is intended for short-term storage. The freezer is maintained at -15 / -24 ° C. In 3-chamber refrigerators there is also a universal "zero" section for storing vegetables, fruits, herbs and fish.
Freezing temperature and power. The shelf life of food depends on the temperature in the freezer. It is marked with snowflakes, which indicate the possibility of reducing the temperature by 6 ° C. Freezing capacity means the number of kg of food at room temperature that the refrigerator will freeze to -18 ° C in 24 hours.
Defrosting. Manual defrosting requires turning off the refrigerator, manually removing water and ice residues. For the duration of defrosting, the products are transferred to a separate container. Improved drip system allows you to collect water from the evaporator in a special tank. But the freezer compartment will have to be defrosted manually.
No Frost system does not require external efforts. The air in the chamber is stirred by a fan, moisture settles on the evaporator. Periodically, the compressor turns off, with the help of short-term heating, the water is removed through a hose into a special vessel, where it completely evaporates. The only drawback is the airing of the food. Food should be placed in the refrigerator in containers or bags.
Compressor and noise level. Models are equipped with 1 or 2 compressors. If there is only one compressor, the chambers are cooled alternately.In 2-compressor refrigerators, each one works with one chamber. A standard compressor pressurizes the refrigerant with a pump piston. It runs at maximum power all the time. When the set temperature is reached, it turns off, which is accompanied by noise.
In an inverter compressor, the pressure is generated by a motor with a coil. Instead of completely shutting down, it slows down. The advantages include the absence of peak loads, reduced noise level, and high energy efficiency.
Energy consumption. The energy class denotes the actual consumption from the conditional annual consumption rate, marked with letters from A +++ to G. Modern models are available in classes from A +++ to C:
- C up to 75-95%;
- B up to 55-75%;
- And up to 44-55%;
- A + up to 33-44%;
- A ++ up to 22-33%;
- A +++ up to 22%.
Annual energy consumption in kWh will determine how much it will cost to operate the refrigerator during the year.
Climatic class. The indicator is marked as follows:
- N: for a temperate climate, +32… + 16 ° C;
- T: for hot climates, up to +43 ° C;
- SN: intermediate class, + 10… + 32 ° C;
- ST: subtropical class, + 16… + 38 ° C.
Operation of the refrigerator in a region that does not correspond to the climate class may result in denial of warranty service.
